If you are interested in working with a group of dedicated data governance professionals to advance and influence the profession of data governance and you are willing to dedicate your time and talents to the DGPO we encourage you to consider running for a position on the DGPO board.
Nominations are open for the following core positions:
- President
- VP Professional Development
- VP Operations
- Treasurer
Length of term is two years.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Nominees for core board positions must be active and paid members of the DGPO by Dec. 31, 2022
- Nominees must be available to attend monthly virtual board meetings in the evening after working hours
- Nominees for President must have previously served a complete term on the DGPO board in another core position
Desired Experience:
- Self-motivated
- Perseverance
- ‘Can do’ personality
To submit a nomination for yourself or a member of the DGPO please email the Nomination Committee by midnight March 24th and include the following information:
- Name of nominee
- Nominee’s Company Name
- Nominee’s email address
- Short Bio (Maximum 200 words)
- Board Position the nominee is interested in
- Campaign Statement-Reason why you or the person you are nominating wants to be on the DGPO Board (Short statement no longer than a paragraph)
- Additional information regarding your background/experience that would be beneficial to the position you are interested in (Maximum 250 words)
Nominations close midnight March 24, 2023
President – Key Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and strategic direction
- Oversees all volunteer activities and all board committees
- Appoints committee members
- Assists all officers in the performance of their responsibilities
Treasurer – Key Responsibilities
- Serves as Chief Financial Officer for the organization.
- Develops organizational annual budget
- Produces & presents a monthly treasury report
- Collects membership fees & other receivables
VP Professional Development – Key Responsibilities
- Oversees the strategic direction for data governance content in the Members Only area of the DGPO website
- Coordinates the development of the “DGPO Data Governance Best Practices Repository”
- Manages the Annual DGPO Best Practice Award submission & review process
VP Operations-Key Responsibilities
- Handles logistics for meetings, teleconferences and webinars, as directed by the Board
- Maintains minutes in the absence of the Secretary
- Responsible for determining & maintaining insurance for the organization
