Webinar: 2026 DPGO Best Practice Award Winner – Building a Practical and Scalable Program at York University

July 8, 2026 2PM EST

Data governance is often positioned as a policy or technology challenge, but lasting progress depends on people, trust, and culture. In this session, York University shares its data governance journey from early foundations to institution-wide adoption, highlighting the practical steps, lessons learned, and approaches that helped move governance from concept to practice. Participants will explore how York built engagement, improved data literacy, strengthened accountability, and created the conditions for more trusted and effective use of data across the institution. The session will also reflect on successes, challenges, and considerations for institutions looking to build sustainable and scalable data governance programs.
